The idea started with a friend that got a virus, and me thinking: "I wish I could get some chicken soup delivered as a gift!" I looked online and couldn't find a way to do it. So I decided to try to create such a gift. The more I thought about it the more I realized that soup is also great for busy parents who want a break from cooking, and is such an original and practical gift for lots of occasions! Order soup for yourself - enjoy delicious, healthy and satisfying food and save the time and hassle of cooking. Then use that time to do something you really want to do. Whatever it is. How did I find the time to start a business?

I believe that if we wait with things we want to do for when "I will have time" then those things won't happen. Time is something we create. So I made time for the soup adventure! True, it wasn't easy. During the first two years of the business, I was also working for JDC - a wonderful Jewish organization - I managed a team of fundraising writers, and I had four children at home. So when did I find time to cook soup and start a business? I started small - cooking just once a month in my kitchen in Elazar, I wanted to bring people relief from the stress of life, and did it as an adventure for me - starting a business, learning how it works, how to market, how to make soups… Everything is super exciting and fun. And yes, with testing new soups and upgrading recipes I already had - that means my family gets lots of soup too!

In the summer of 2021 I left my job at JDC and took the plunge of being a full-time business owner. Yael's Soups moved from a side-gig to the center! Now, different soups are available every week - winter AND summer. And I am truly enjoying the amazing challenge of growing a business that is helping me grow personally and professionally!!
